I took this free class the other night with herbalist Kiva Rose and I couldn’t believe the recipe in the handout for an Evening Primrose Flower Elixir – so I thought you would enjoy it since you had such beautiful ones at the farm.
Harvest flowers near the time when they open for the most aromatics.
Ingredients
- Evening Primrose Flowers
- Raw wildflower Honey
- Brandy (the better tasting the brandy, the better tasting the elixir)
- Canning jar/stick
Steps
- Fill jar with flowers (you can use the whole flowering top)
- Fill jar 1/3 up with honey, stir until all flowers coated with honey
- Fill up with Brandy
- Stir, top off and cover – let sit in dark, cool area for 4-6 week
Uses for:
- Relaxant nervine
- Anti-spasmodic
- Mucus membrane healer
- Digestive tonic
- Anti-inflammatory and anodyne for burns (externally)
ENJOY! I want some if you get to make any
